Google Search Gadgets + Presentation Creativity

I learned about tons of new "Google Search" tools that will help me find exactly what I need, and one that stood out to me is the boolean operators. By using these, I can refine my results so I can find whatever information I'm looking for quicker and easier. Some examples of it include -, which excludes any sites/documents that have that word in their title (is it just the title or the entire passage, someone please clarify!), and "", which searches that exact phrase with no words in between the words inside the "". Since I only knew about the extracting tool (-), I was very intrigued by the other features Google Search has, and I am definitely planning on using them so I can dig up information more effectively.

Another Google feature that impressed me was Google Scholar. This search engine is a tool that will be very helpful since I am a student, and the features on the search bar makes it easier for me to find educational, scholastic materials. It allows me to choose whether to include patents and citations or not. I can also use the boolean operators I mentioned earlier to filter my results. Secondly, there are many gadgets that allow me to use the results effectively. That sounds a little confusing, but basically after you pull up a website or document (like a PDF ), there are multiple ways to use it. Those are citations, related articles, multiple versions, citing, and saving. Just by clicking any of those buttons, I can find articles that are closely related to that source, save it, check if it is reliable / trustworthy, and much more! Lastly, as I played around with Google Scholar, I found this tool called "Citations". Curious to see what it does, I clicked on it and it brought me to a page where I have to enter what information I'm searching for. What this does is help you track citations, and you can do this by just simply entering the affiliations of the source, as well as your areas of interest. I'd like to get to know more about this as well.

I hope to be able to use these two interesting and academically helpful (?) tools for my upcoming projects :)

Additionally, we talked about creativity in class today. Although everyone has different view on what's unique / what isn't, I felt that it was really important to make sure to make my future presentations and other projects special and captivate the audience. From this, I thought about how I could think outside the box for any problem / assignment, as well as other things such as music, art, etc.
